It’s Friday the 13th for the third time this year. Bad news for those of us with friggatriskaidekaphobia, a fear of this unlucky day which affects more than 60 million people worldwide.
To combat any bad luck that might be lurking, we’ve compiled a list of seven good luck charms to arm yourself with, in the form of beautiful Blurb books.
1. Feng Shui
Look up some basic rules of feng shui to bring prosperity into your home.
2. Four-leaf clovers
They can be hard to find, but are a guaranteed good luck talisman when you do.
3. Falling stars
Look for them at night and make a wish.
4. Dragonflies
Dragonflies are associated with luck and harmony in China and with happiness in some Native American cultures.
5. Dragons
Dragons can breathe fire and fly. Definitely lucky.
6. Elephants
Because of their longevity, elephants are considered lucky. Keep an elephant figurine near a doorway to boost your own hopes for a long life.
7. Hang out with someone Irish and hope their luck rubs off on you.
So watch out for black cats, ladders and, mirrors. And then take it easy. The next Friday the 13th won’t be for another 14 months, in September 2013.
