Ever come across a book that pretty much blows your mind, and then learn the story about the book and swoon over every little detail you hear about it? That would be us, over “Birth of a Statesman – Barack Obama” by Lauren Victoria Burke.
We decided to interview Lauren for our next Take 5 Tuesday installment, but got so excited about her book that we decided to tell you about it today. Yes, it is THAT good.
Lauren documented the rise of Barack Obama from back in January 2005 when he started his first day at the Senate to his presidential victory in November of 2008. Put all those years in a book and it comes out to be 475 photographs on 280 pages of goodness.
We don’t want to spoil the interview, but we about keeled over when we heard Barack Obama signed a copy of the book for Lauren this past weekend. He and some of his staff have copies, as do countless people who have been snatching it up at independent booksellers and of course, the Blurb Bookstore.
Check back for an interview with Lauren about the book and where she’ll be next (she’s the talk of the town these days) tomorrow for our newest installment of Take 5 Tuesday.
