Mobile phone photographers, pick your app and start snapping. Blurb is sponsoring The App Wars, an international mobile photography contest. The App Wars will match the 100 most amazing, creative, thought-provoking Hipstamatic photos with the 100 most amazing, creative, and thought-provoking Instagram photos.
The competition culminates in a gallery show in San Diego, California, and a book produced by Blurb. And of course there are prizes – not to mention prestige. Judges for the competition include Gina Costa, M.A and PhD, a Curator from the Snite Museum at the University of Notre Dame, and Chip Simons, whose work has been featured by Seagram’s, Rolling Stone, Time Magazine, New York Times Magazine, Newsweek, and many others.
