Just want to keep you in the loop with Blurb news worldwide. This just in from our on-the-ground Blurberati in Australia:
Australian youth organization vibewire is a dynamic non-profit organization that supports young people to effectively shape their world through media, arts and entrepreneurial opportunities.
As part of their efforts to promote youth talent, they have released their first edition of a quarterly anthology, using Blurb. The result is a stunning testament to emerging youth writers, poets and illustrators.
Vibewire encourages young people to create work monthly based around a theme and were consistently blown away by the amazing level of submissions they received.
To further promote this talent, the vibewire team decided to publish the best of each genre in a book – giving young contributors better exposure and recognition – and so the quarterly anthology was born.
Each anthology holds the work based around three of the monthly themes – this edition being “Looking back”, “What matters”, and “Are you ready?”.
There are no restrictions on the kind of work that kind be submitted, furthering the scope for creativity; it can be poetry, fiction, opinion, journalism, photography, illustration or a review. A flick through the book, highlights the diversity of talent among Australian youth.
The anthology has been so well received that vibewire has already started production on their second anthology.
As the vibewire team put it: “We believe there’s nothing quite like seeing your name and your work in print, let alone having a fresh copy of the book to share and carry with you everywhere!”
