Attending BlogHer this past weekend was a first for me on so many levels. After years of working in print and online media, and attending conferences as such, I attended BlogHer as a sponsor. And a proud sponsor at that. We gave away our “Blog to Book” Blurb book and met a lot of very passionate and interesting contributers to the blogosphere. I ran into people I haven’t seen in years and discovered blogs I would never have found on my own. Broader Perspective, culturekitchen, Eggbeater, and My Mom’s Blog are but some of the new blogs I discovered.

Highlights from the “Get Deeply Geeky” session, covered technology and gender and introduced me to SMASHcast, a very smart, articulate group of young adults. Listen to their podcasts and read their blog. They are our future.

The session, “Business Blog Case Studies” was a must for those looking for ways to better their business blog. I found Jody DeVere’s comments about Ask Patty particularly interesting.

The session “Is Your Blog a Gallery or a Canvas?” presented a wonderful look into the many not-just-for-text-anymore blogs. Check out Black Phoebe :: Ms. Jen, yogabeans!, Out On The Stoop, and Blog Guelph.

Needless to say, there are many photo, food, political, business, art, and reference blogs out there, begging to become books.

If you make a Blurb book because of our BlogHer sponsorship, let us know. Maybe we’ll see you at BlogHer next year!
