The release of a new Adobe product is always big news, but it’s even more exciting when you’re part of it. We’ve been working closely with the Adobe team to add Blurb bookmaking to the upcoming release of Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom® 4, which is now available for public beta.
Here’s the idea: Lightroom helps you through your whole photography workflow, from importing your images from your camera, to adjusting them, to showcasing them – and now with Lightroom 4, you’ll be able to make a book with your photos without leaving the application.
The best part is that you can go back and forth between bookmaking and photo editing: enhance an image, put it in layout, change your mind and readjust the image. You’ll see the changes right in the layout as you make the book.
Here’s a video walk-through from Lightroom-guru Jerry Courvoisier:
We know it’s something Lightroom fans have been wanting (and if you just want to dig in now, visit our Lightroom 4 page) but it’s also a great entry point for those new to Lightroom.
Book making is perfectly suited to Lightroom’s workflow. Unlike Adobe® Photoshop®, which is great for editing individual images and applying layers and filters, Lightroom is geared towards working with lots of photos simultaneously.
Of course, if you’re not ready to take the beta plunge (or you’re making books over 240 pages), we still have our plug-ins for Blurb BookSmart® and Blurb Bookify™ which work with Lightroom 3. But we think you’ll really like the bookmaking/photo-editing powerhouse of the upcoming Lightroom 4. Get started on our Lightroom 4 page.
