From cave art to comic books, humans have used drawings to telegraph a story – no words needed. We love how Garrett Wieronski pulls us into the narrative with detailed, moody black-and-white sketches in his wordless graphic novel “House Guest.” Wieronski strips the story down to essentials and tells it in an almost cinematic way, panning from moment to moment, using just a few comic strip sound effects to punctuate the action of his unlikely protagonist.

It’s a pity there are just 15 pages to preview, because we want to find out how this one ends – there just might be a surprise twist in store.
