This week brings First Thursdays to San Francisco. The first Thursday evening of every month, many of the city’s art galleries – even some not open to the public – open their doors and invite anyone in to wander among artists and their artwork. With cocktail in hand, it’s easy to drift through five galleries in one evening. Maybe that’s rushing it, but the impact of seeing so much creativity in one night usually triggers great dreams.
If you won’t find yourself near any galleries this summer, our Book of the Week, Ronnie Boykin and Chris Burch, will give you a little fix. It’s a catalog made for two artists showing at the Gillock Gallery in Evanston, Illinois. And if you find yourself near Chicago with a desire to explore the North Shore art scene, let us direct you to the actual show. It’s currently running and we think you’ll appreciate the contrasting styles of artists Ronnie Boykin and Chris Burch.
