We’d like to give a shout out to Japantastic, a Blurb book by Zöe Hendon. The book focuses on Japanese-inspired design by The Silver Studio, a design studio that drew upon Japanese art to create designs for wallpapers and textiles for British consumers from about 1880 to 1930. The Silver Studio Collection can be found at the Museum of Domestic Design & Architecture (MoDA) at Middlesex University. The book accompanied the Silver Studio exhibit that took place between 2009 and 2010.
Speaking of design, take a look at this Flickr site featuring vintage Japanese book and magazine covers. Absolutely gorgeous and proof that when color, shape, and design come together, great things happen.
