I went to Mills College where I was dutifully trained to look beyond gender clichés. For example, “You hit like a girl,” should not be considered an insult because a girl can deliver a ferocious uppercut to the jaw just like Laila Ali or Muhammad Ali. Gender doesn’t determine strength or weakness. I mention this because I want you to keep an open mind when you try the Gender Genie.
The Gender Genie uses a scientifically developed algorithm to determine the gender of an author based solely on words. Type in any text (your blog, your poetry, your thoughts, or test a famous author’s writing) and the Genie will score the words letting you know if you write like a male or female.
This post, I’m all girl. A couple days ago, I wrote like a guy. What does it all mean? I think bloggers Mary Dell and Susan Abbot sum it up best.
So, tell us, do you write like a guy or a girl?
