I get the GalleyCat newsletter from Mediabistro.com. I like reading about writers. The snarkiness is entertaining. And I really appreciate news about interesting literary websites. Today, I was introduced to Granta. I may be late to the game on this one — Granta magazine has been around since 1889 — but its website was just redesigned, so hopefully this is newsworthy for you too.

So, what is Granta? It’s hard to resist a description like this: Granta does not have a political or literary manifesto, but it does have a belief in the power and urgency of the story, both in fiction and non-fiction, and the story’s supreme ability to describe, illuminate and make real.

Granta has photo essays, memoirs, fiction, poetry — everything we see in Blurb books. Just wanted to spread the word about this magazine and website, as it feets like something that Blurbarians could get into.

Which literary, photography, art, or poetry websites are drawing you in these days? Any new blogs we should know about? Let’s get a list going in the comments below.
