We were over the moon when we read what Stephen Wildstrom had to say about Blurb in BusinessWeek. You can listen to the podcast or read the article online, but here’s a teaser:

Blurb takes advantage of new printing technology, best exemplified by HP’s Indigo press. Think of it as the love child of a laser printer and a conventional offset press. Although the actual printing is done with traditional liquid ink instead of toner, the process is laser-guided, eliminating the extremely expensive step of making lithograph plates. As a result, very small press runs and even single copies become practical.

Stephen made a book and wrote a very positive review. Read the whole article here and let us know what you think.

  1. I leaned about blurb today when reading my Business Week. It got me interested enough to look at the website. My interest initially is publishing PDFs from my company. After researching this, I understand PDFs are not directly supported now, but I may try the described proceedrue for a 100+ page document.

  2. I, too, came to the site because of BusinessWeek. Still, I was surprised that “Booksmart” is an oxymoron — it’s downright frustrating you cannot nudge the text up or down slightly.

Are there other horrible gotchas waiting for me or do I have to invest/waste more time to find them?
