egg pinhole camera by Francesco Capponi How to Turn Easter Eggs into Cameras

Chances are you’ve eaten all the chocolate bunnies and peeps you can handle for the year and all that’s left over are the Easter eggs. Don’t toss them! Take a cue from Francesco Capponi and make them into pinhole cameras!

Capponi made these clever egg cameras in honor of World Pinhole Day on April 24. Not to worry if you missed it. There’s still time to submit your pinhole camera shots to their gallery where your photo can hang out with pinhole images taken worldwide (Indonesia, Italy, Finland –pinhole camera fans exist everywhere).

Don’t have a pinhole camera? Make one. Pinhole cameras can be made from just about anything – juice boxes, Pringles containers, origami. The list is endless. Capponi has even made pinhole cameras of chess pieces, birdhouses, and peanuts.

What are you waiting for? There’s no cheaper camera to be had and the instructions on how to build one are easy to come by. Big thanks to PetaPixel for opening our eyes to the possibilities of the pinhole camera.
