When your fourth-grade teacher said that, it wasn’t exactly a compliment. But Motley Fool just noted that Blurb’s new Set Your Price program “has the capacity to disrupt an entire industry” – and we consider that a huge compliment.
According to Tim Beyers in “Blurbarians at the Gate,” Blurb is a “Baby Breaker” – that’s Foolspeak for new ventures set to break established industry rules. Business as usual in publishing is changing with Blurb, he explains: No more must authors beg to get published, and flog their books for a tiny share of the profits.
Talk about a savvy Fool. Not only did Beyers totally get what our Set Your Price program is all about, but he actually homed in on our off-the-beaten-path booth at Macworld amid a “flurry of iGadgets.” We’re pleased and delighted so many of you Macworlders have torn yourselves away from the magic phone in the bodyguard-protected Plexiglas dome to seek us out. Disruptive? You got that right – and to us, that’s even better than a gold star.
