Software industry events, such as SF Beta or next weekend’s Flickr Birthday Party, provide exciting opportunities to meet other software innovators, talk shop, and share ideas. But somewhere in between the official meet and greets are other important events, such as San Francisco’s Toronado Barley Wine Festival.
The Toronado is known for offering the best selection of beer in San Francisco, carrying hard-to-find microbrews rotating on tap. Ryan, a software engineer at Technorati, and I (a member of the Blurberati and a Blurb user experience designer), attended said festival on Tuesday night – as you can see from our crib sheet below:

All this beer (excuse me, barley wine) drinking made me wonder if there are any beer-related books in the Blurb Bookstore. The closest I found was the book, Shots of Portland, A Photographic Expedition Through the Bars of Portland, Oregon by David Richardson.

Kudos to David for putting together a collection of bars in Portland, and for inspiring me with a great book idea for our new 7×7 book – a book on beer and beer drinking in San Francisco! If there are any other Blurbarians with beer or bar-oriented books, please let us know.
The Toronado Barley Wine Festival runs through Saturday, February 24. Look for the Technorati and Blurberati stickers on the Toronado’s wall of stickers.
