For those who are concerned about their orders not getting delivered by December 24, please remain optimistic. Our printers are working straight on through until the last UPS pick up. More orders are going out today, tomorrow , and Saturday, for delivery on or before the 24th, so please look for your shipping confirmation email.

Do keep in mind that there is sometimes a delay between when you receive a tracking number and when UPS has it in their system. So, if you get a tracking number at 11PM at night, UPS will not pick up and scan the package until their regularly scheduled pick up the next day.

Thanks for your patience.

Kathy,

After I ranted yesterday I discovered that last night my book were printed and were on there way. That was not until 8 pm. last night I might add. However I don't know how you guys at BLURB did it but it got to me this morning at 11:30 am. Now that is some kind of service as it also had to be delivered to Canada. Yesterday I had no reason to believe that I was going to get my 7 books by Christmas but here it is 5 days before and I have the books in hand. I haven't had a chance to look over every book but the one I looked at (200 pages hard cover) looks absolutly great. I must appologize to all who read my blog comments. I am looking at them again and I was frustrated because I was hoping to get my books by Friday but what a suprise I got them a day early. Kathy, pass on my thanks to BLURB staff.

I too have not received my book though the "expected ship date" has come and gone. I've given up hope that I'll get it for the holidays even though i ordered in advance.

I also had the frustration of getting the standard response: "we expect your book to ship in one or two days".

Sounds like Blurb doesn't have the operations to handle the volume. Any change those of us experiencing this disappointment will be given any remedy? Upgraded shipping was nice, but doesn't help if the book doesn't get printed.

Without remedy, I'll probably not be back to Blurb (and I could hardly recommend it to friends). Its disappointing, and it looks as though I'm not alone.

Forgive me for joining the fray, but I too have a book that has been "processing" for quite a while now. I've given up hope of getting it in time to give it as a gift.

I suggest that when working with customer support, a response other than "it will probably ship in 1 or 2 days" would probably bring the level of frustration down. It sounds as though this is a stock response without any real personal customer support. If there is an issue with my book, maybe it's something that I could've done differently when preparing it?

I'll probably not be coming back to Blurb based on this experience (and i certainly won't recommend it to others), but maybe I can help other Blurbians who have had the good fortune of getting their books in time for the holidays.

All things aside...at least Blurb is honest enough to make all of this griping public on their website.

Hi Kathy-

I was just referred to this blog entry to print a coupon in case my books don't arrive on time.

I have been working with order support, but they have no way of telling me the status of my book other than that it is in the "final stages of production". This has been the same answer for the past 3 days apparently.

I'm getting the impression that once it heads to the printer, its really out of Blurbs hands at that point. I'm afraid that the order may have been lost in the shuffle as happened to me once with another company. In that case, it took me bugging the CEO's office for someone to actually check on it.

Randy,

I can appreciate your frustration. Please continue to work with Order Support. We're doing everything we can do to keep all orders moving during this high-volume time.

Thanks for your patience.
