At first glance, Ice Cream is a book of sequential photographs featuring one guy eating a vanilla ice cream cone. Over and over. Lick, after lick, after lick.
I have to admit, when I first previewed Ice Cream, I was all “Huh? What is this?” Then it hit me: This is a flip book! It’s a video of someone really getting into his ice cream and it was turned, frame by frame, into a 338-page softcover book simulating continuous motion. You’ll only be able to preview the first 16 pages, but that’s enough to give you a taste of this technique.

In case you’ve never seen a flip book in action — or flick book, as some call them — here are two hand drawn examples I found on YouTube: Robot Fight and Music Flip Book.
