We’ve written about stock photography before, and how it’s a great option for your books when you need a specific image that you can’t quite capture with your own camera. If you need a reason to give stock photography a shot, here’s one:
iStockphoto is offering Blurbarians 20% off a first purchase, plus 20 free images out of 50 or so to choose from. Get all the offer details here.
We love sharing deals like this. If you end up trying it out, let us know how it goes. Or better yet, link to your book preview that shows off your iStockphoto images.

Publicising and hooking up with microstock companies? The ones who essentially rip off photographers? I’ve just gone right off Blurb.
They rip them off by forcing them to upload their pictures and pay them what they agreed to? But maybe I’m missing something…
why not trade photos with other Blurb folks instead of microstock co. that rip US off? Watch closely as Blurb grows corporate…
Judith, I think trading images is a great idea! How could we work this so that people could receive appropriate acknowledgment for their work and not feel exploited? Any ideas?
I have several free stock photographs out on the web, I would be willing to work with anyone from Blurb that needs a photo.
How about setting up a section for free stock images on Blurb?
Try squinchpix.com
It’s an art resource site and its fully searchable
Wunderbar! I’m so glad to see two of my favorite companies teaming up. I’m both an iStocker and a Blurbarian and I have nothing but praise for both firms.
