This week’s Book of the Week, Naturally Indiana, presents a great way to experience the outside world without actually having to go there. Jianming Li’s beautifully balanced photography is a nice visual introduction to the Hoosier State, and it gels really well with the straightforward copy.
Although the story of Naturally Indiana is told through the photographs, Jianming’s story of discovering photography at an early age, and building his own darkroom in his parents’ basement, is just as interesting - and it’s great to see a photographer add depth to his photograph through text.
Indiana isn’t flat . . . who knew?

Just wanted to give a shout out to my home state of Indiana! I was surprised to see the picture of the waterfall on the back cover of this book. This was taken in Williamsport, IN — a tiny little town (population: less than 2,000) where I grew up. In fact, that waterfall is just a block away from the house I grew up in.
I drive through Indiana all the time, but I never noticed that it had this much beauty!
