When you get back from a vacation, at the top of the list is to download your digital pictures and relive all the good times from your trip. But don’t you want those good times to continue? Making a book from your trip photos means those vacation memories can live on and be shared with friends and family long after the trip is over.
Make a travel-themed book and order it before September 7 at 11:59 PM PDT, and you’ll be automatically entered into our giveaway. We’ll pick 5 of the top travel books to be featured as Staff Picks the week of September 8. Besides a spotlight on your book, you’ll also receive a $50 gift from Blurb if we feature you.
To be eligible, mark your book “public,” turn Book Preview on, and tag it “travel.” This is key - if you don’t do this, we have no way to find your book and enter it into the contest. To be on the safe side, here are a few screen shots to walk you through the process. (Trust me, it’s easy.)
Once you order your book, click the edit button to edit the details.

On the Book Detail screen, add the “travel” tag as shown below, then click save.

Once you’ve saved the book detail, scroll down to the privacy settings, and toggle the radio button to “Public.” Just below this, you’ll see the Book Preview section. Toggle Book Preview to “on.”

That’s it!
Once you order, you’ll get your book in about a week. Kick back with the adult beverage of your choice and re-live your adventures - we’ll let you know if you’ve been chosen as a Staff Pick when we post the week’s selections on September 10.
Happy bookmaking!!

Oh my God!
This is so cool!!!
I just came back from a short trip to Colombia. . .
My boyfriend and I took lots an lots of pictures (it was his first visit ^_^), so we’re creating videos and slideshows. . .
But what is better than a beautiful book to show to our family & friends until the end of time?!?!?!?
Thanks for this great idea. . .and of course the opportunity to receive $50 to keep the create-book-inspiration rolling!
This is a beautiful idea, and I have a ton of vacation photos to use for this project. But I’m wondering why all of your contests require a fee or a purchase to enter. I’m not sure that’s legal? Might want to look into that just in case.
Hey Kat,
Glad you like the idea, and look forward to seeing your work! I’m sure it makes sense that in order to have a book contest we need the actual books. There’s no fee required, and if you’re making your vacation book anyway, all we’re saying is tag it “travel” if you want a shot at some Blurb bling. If not, no worries.
Thanks for checking in,
Mike
A great idea. I already have a recently produced travel book. Southern Africa. Can I enterr this?
Hi Mike,
Your email today made me so happy, I just finish a 120 page book about my daughters trip to Sweden. I have been living in USA for 12 years ( I’m Swedish, daughter American) and have not until this moment appreciate and understood what a amazing culture I’m from. I hope you will enjoy it and that other people will be able to see the beauty from Sweden to the way I capture it.
This is about my 10th book I order from you and there will probably be 100’s more to come…I love you guy’s, your the best.
Thank you so much
Tusen Tack

didn’t see any rules/prizes for contest.
Any info?
Tom - this is a simple contest, we’re picking 5 books tagged travel between Monday the 11th and September 7th at 11:59pm. You tag it travel, it goes into the contest pool. Winner gets a $50 gift from Blurb. Done.
Stan - if you made your book between those dates, tag it travel and you’re all set. If not, sorry - catch the next one!
hi there, can you clarify if i am allow to tag other words IN ADDITION to “travel”? or is the tagging strictly confined to just “travel”?
thanks
Hey Ying - tag your book whatever you like - but make sure travel is in there. Looking forward to checking out your book!
Oh darn. I haven’t been much of anywhere interesting lately. Guess I’m working too hard and need to ease up — so I can participate in this cool contest!
I do, however, live a block from a beach in Chicago. Maybe I’ll submit my “Sand & Sepia” series from Flickr. ;-)
What contests are coming up next?
Can you enter more than one book?
Hi Mike!
Great contest! Is a revised book eligible?
(I edited, and added to an existing book, uploaded yesterday; “Sensory Overload - A Travel, Dining & Shopping Adventure.” )
thank you,
Dannell
Any chance of a deadline extension? no way my book is done by tomorrow, but I’d really like to enter it. Probably need another week or so.
Thanks
Dear Mike,
I’ve just marked “public” my book “51 Reasons to LOVE LONDON”, turned Book Preview on and tagged it “travel”. Is my book entered in Blurb’s travel contest or it’s too late?
If I am still in time please give a look to my photo book beacuse is simply great, fantastic, unique and stunning :-)
