The travel book competition is complete and the submissions were great. So great in fact that we couldn’t narrow the winners down to five, so instead we chose eight. The winners are (in no particular order):
This stunning collection of photographs highlights different regions of Tanzania. Check out the images of Kilombero river – totally amazing.
These are all shots of street life in where else – Northern India. Taken across the span of four years (2003 – 2007), these photos encompass the wide array of faces and places with a little Polish dialogue to guide you along. The yawning dog is totally classic – we love it.
This guide highlights some of the greatest spots to see while in London, from Buckingham Palace to Convent Garden – Albert captures it all.
Spectacular black and white photos with an undeniable presence demanding to be seen. These seascapes are hauntingly beautiful – especially the images of the trees. I think someone (ahem, Ljubica) needs to consider printing these poster size so I can hang them up.
Pablo did a trek from Landmannalaugar to Þórsmörk and collected his shots in this book, which might I add, is stunning. Some of the photos don’t even seem real, they look more like paintings. Fantastic book for landscape and geology lovers!
These images taken from along the Ganges River will leave you yearning to catch the next plane to India. There’s something disarming calm about these shots despite the flurry of activity taking place. Absolutely stunning.
I have to admit, I’m a glutton for Polaroids and road trips, so this book pretty much screamed my name when I saw it. Kathy took three road trips last June to Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Kansas and along the way she captured images of signs along the old historic Route 66. Each is more charming then the last and totally Americana.
Emilia has an uncanny knack at capturing the essence of what was once East Berlin. The juxtaposition of modern buildings against old world architecture is superb and captures all that Berlin is. Hip and vibrant, yet distinctly aged.

is there a chance to see those books online?
where is havana????????
Hey, I agree with Obywatelgc… Any chance to check out these
books online? Or how do you “get” them? (I’m a bit surprised that a way to buy them isn’t easily apparent… Nikyvee
Hi everyone! To see the books click on their title above, which will take you to their unique bookstore page. You can also order a copy from the book details page.
As these are the winners…we would love to see the whole book to see what you saw to make it your “winner!” The first fifteen pages is nice, but I want the whole pie!!!
It would be great if this is something that could be introduced site wide. Not just for these winners. I want friends and family to see the books I create but they can’t see the whole thing without purchasing it. They may be more inclined to buy it if they knew exactly what was in it!
The book I created recently was 132 pages. By only seeing the first fifteen, they saw the first day and a half of my trip…there was so much more.
Is changing this feature something you would consider? I surely hope so!
Thanks!
Susan :)
I’m very proud of this:
