For those of you who haven’t already heard, Instaburb was a phenomenal photo event that combined Instagram photos of Australia’s far-flung suburbs and Blurb bookmaking. The end result was a stellar Blurb book and a fantastic launch party.
The party, held at the Melbourne headquarters of Dumbo Feather magazine, took place on Friday, 13 April, and brought together the Melbourne Instagram community, Blurbarians, and the book’s creators. Gary Trinh, resident Blurberati, reports that it was a great event. “A project and a book like Instaburb brings a virtual community closer together and gives them a chance to meet in real life.”
According to Gary some of the contributing Instagram photographers flew in from Sydney for the event. “That coming together is exactly the kind of thing that Micheal Baranovic, the person behind Instaburb, hoped would happen.”
Nice job, all. The suburbs never looked so good.
