Do Girl Scout cookies taste better because you buy them from a sweet, doe-eyed, vivacious little girl raising money for a worthy cause? Absolutely. (If you say they taste better because of the trans fat and sugar, you’re officially jaded. And wrong.)

Books for a cause have the same effect. It feels good to buy them. Blurbarians who know this are making more and more fundraising books. Here are a few that have recently caught our eye:

Big Cats by Colleen G. Drew will support Pug Mark Park, a tiger rescue in North Texas.

Hope by Shawn-Michelle Nelson will donate a portion of the book sales to charitable foundations that help children.

Cookbook for Moms with foreword and special family recipe by celebrity chef Nigella Lawson by MothersClick.com is giving 100% of this cookbook’s proceeds to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

Remember to place your book in the Fundraising category if the proceeds will benefit a cause. That will help donors find it and we may feature it in a future blog post.

Working on a book for a cause? Tell us about it. A philanthropist could be reading this, waiting to give.
