Cheryl Goodman from Qualcomm on Mirasol, the low-power color tablet screen technology.

e-Readers and multimedia viewers will merge. There are so many tablets, how many will fail without content? How many magazines will fail without content strategies? An internet connection is not a content strategy.

We expect 200 million tablets in next 5 years. There’s a lot of enthusiasm for tablets, but not as much satisfaction with available content. But, a majority of publishers (67%) of publishers have not changed their approach to publishing to deliver content in new ways. They are being dragged into market.

First technologies are not best, just first. Content must live up to capability of platform; PDFs are a bridge format, not the best format.

[Poor Cheryl, she has a bad cold!]
