NOOR is a collective based in Amsterdam, comprising a select group of highly accomplished photojournalists and documentary photographers. To celebrate the agencies fifth anniversary, NOOR’s documentary photographers created a series of 11 books, showcasing works spanning the last five years.
The project – which was presented at the international photojournalism festival Visa pour l’Image in Perpignan, where the NOOR story began five years ago – was intended to increase the accessibility of professional photojournalism, and open it up to a wider audience.
Claudia Hinterseer, director and founder of NOOR commented, “Five years ago we started NOOR to provide an alternative for good photographers to sell their work and to gain more influence on what stories appear in the media. With pride and satisfaction we look back at five successful years, which we celebrate with this book project amongst others. Blurb likes to give everyone the freedom to make a book of professional quality according to one’s own discretion. That distinctive and free character matches with NOOR.”
This project is another excellent example of how photography can be translated into professional, beautiful, and importantly, affordable photo books with Blurb.
Follow us on Facebook US/UK, Facebook FR, Facebook DE, and Facebook NL as we feature a different book from the series every week, with the photographers involved sharing some background on their book. In the mean time, check out all of the books in the series.
