Mmmm, those Blogger and LiveJournal books sure are tasty… in case you hadn’t noticed in our recent blog post, Blurb’s Blog Slurper is now happily converting blogs using these two platforms into books, just as we promised it would. Since these two platforms account for 55% of the market, we wanted to be sure our Slurper tool was good and ready for you.

We know this will make you Blogger users especially happy, because up until now there was no way to output your blogs as books. The Blog Slurper already supports TypePad and WordPress blogs, and voracious technology that it is, will begin slurping blogs on other platforms soon.

Not that you’ve been waiting around for an engraved invitation to begin slurping away. So far our Bookstore features blog books (affectionately termed blooks)on drinking in Portlandrelocating to a small town 40 miles from anywhere, and photographs by a waitress of waitresses (check out the cool cover below).

Now you can have your blog and slurp it too. So tell us: what are you planning to slurp first?

  1. Wow!!! That cover is hot. ;-)

Thanks so much for the kind plug Blurberati!

Just to set the record straight, I rarely shoot waitresses and there is only one image in the book that contains them. The name of my photoblog came as a reaction to the view that waitresses have no other roles or contributions. The ‘hot chic’ on the cover is actually a mannequin and there is a bit of everything inside.

I’m so pleased with this whole experience that I am already planning the next your waitress book which will also be through Blurb this fall.

Keep up the great work and thanks again. You made my day, er night!

  6. the choice of slurper isnt intuitive – well not dumb proof enough :-)
instead of the option in kind of book saying blog – maybe have the slurper option named as such or earlier in the options?
and oh, using typepad with a large volume of text, it always crashes. i know its beta, thats why i am writing this….

  8. It’s been a while since I tried the blog-to-book feature. At last check, moveable type did not seem to be supported. Has this changed yet? Also, I wonder if there is a way to have total control of your book design (like a MS Word document, or blog design) as I would like to retain much of the original post formats.
