It’s November 1. The official first day of National Novel Writing Month. If you’ve been sitting on a plot idea for days/months/years, this is the mega-volt jumpstart to get it done. By midnight, November 30.

Nanowrimo.org is the official Web site that’ll take you through the steps to write your novel. We’re talking tips, forums, podcasts, even pep talks from authors like Tom Robbins.

Once you’re in the throes of it, here’s another resource loaded with links to help you write a novel. (The site’s not pretty, but the posts are very worthwhile.) Wet blanket alert: Not everyone thinks this is the way to approach novel writing. Eric Rosenfield, of Wet Asphalt, took a contrarian stand.

What do you think? Willing to give it a go? Let us know if you take on the challenge.

  1. Thanks for linking to my article. Sorry about the looks of my site. I’ve been having a problem with the theme reverting to the ugly default colors. Usually it looks prettier than this. Please check back later and let me know what you think. Also, I’m due for a redesign, which I am working on.
    Thanks again

  5. Daryl – will you copy edit my novel when I’m done?

Thanks for the correction. Sometimes we get caught in the throes of blog writing and we miss something.

  6. Between working on another blurb book and checking out all the other books on the Blurb online Store, I will never get finished with this novel.

    Oh Well.
