Our Facebook GroupBook app is no longer available as of February 2010, but you can still use GroupBook straight out of BookSmart.

SuperPoke. Scrabulous. Blurb GroupBook. Check out our new Facebook app that lets you and your friends make a Blurb book together. Use it to start a book project, get photos from your friends, make a book, and announce it to your Facebook community.

Here’s how Blurb GroupBook works:

• Initiate a GroupBook project (whoever starts the project becomes the ‘producer’).
• Use the Facebook platform to invite your friends to contribute photos to the project. Once your friends accept the invitation, they can easily upload photos, view other contributed photos, and make comments.
• Review the photos and choose which ones you want to include in your Blurb book – as the producer, it’s your call.
• When you’re ready, slurp the photos into BookSmart, and get to work creating your book.

When you finish your GroupBook, you can announce it to your Facebook friends in all the normal ways – via your newsfeed, on the wall, by posting to your profile, etc. Our badges work on Facebook too. It’s up to you.

As photos are added to the project and comments are made, you’ll see updates in your Facebook newsfeed. You can check out your GroupBook project page at any time to see who has added photos.

You can find Blurb GroupBook in the Facebook Application Directory. Once you’re up and running, let us know what you think.

And if you’re not a Blurb fan yet, you should be! Check us out on Facebook here.

Poke.

  3. I think this is a great application, but I wish that there was also a simple Blurb application on Facebook that would allow us to promote our books.
