Over 40 million people use Photobucket. That’s a lot of content. And these people do more than just upload and share photos – they create slide shows, remixes, mash-ups. We’re betting they’ll love slurping their photos into Blurb books too.

So, starting today, if you download BookSmart you’ll have access to our new Photobucket Slurper. Photobucket announced its Application Gallery this morning and we’re on-board as a launch partner. This news comes a week after announcing our first Facebook app. It’s our job to innovate and make it easier and easier for you to make and share books, so that’s why we’re going deeper into the social media space.

Like the Flickr, SmugMug, and Picasa Slurpers before it, the Photobucket Slurper automatically connects BookSmart to your Photobucket account and slurps your images – at the highest resolution available – into a Blurb book.

To use the Photobucket Slurper, find it on the Get Photos page when you start a new book, or in the My Pictures area of BookSmart if you’ve already started your book. You’ll be asked to give BookSmart the green light to access your account and from there you can choose the images or albums you want to slurp.

If you’re on Photobucket, give the new slurper a try and let us know what you think.
