Over the past year, it’s been pretty incredible for us to see the level of citizen engagement inspired by President Obama through your books. Citizens from around the world have published dozens of books containing their own photographic and text-based accounts of their experiences with our new President. In the past month, we’ve been seen an outpouring of books featuring photography and stories from President Obama’s historic path to the White House and think they’re absolutely fantastic.
So fantastic that they really got us thinking. This election has been one of the first where everyone could document the process and how it impacted their lives in a bookstore-quality book. And we think the historic level of citizen participation President Obama has inspired should be reflected in his future presidential library’s book collection.
So we decided when the time comes, we’ll be prepared to donate to President Obama’s presidential library one copy of each of the Obama-themed books in the Blurb Bookstore. That’s where you come in. We know millions of you have unique content to share. Whether you photographed campaign or inauguration events or have a more abstract project in mind (check out The Guardian’s “A Message for Obama” book for some inspiration), we encourage you to publish it, make it public in the Bookstore, and tag it with “Obama!”
