Shelter publications refer to those glossy home magazines filled with meticulously styled interiors. Photographer Todd Selby has helped redefine the genre, shooting informal interiors of cool spaces owned by hipsters worldwide. The story of how he came to do it and how it’s set him off on a great career path (shoots for Nike, Vogue, Vuitton to name a few recent gigs) was featured in the New York Times.

Check out the slideshow, and his widely followed website, and think about what you, as a photographer/artist/writer/bookmaker, might do. There’s really nothing new under the sun, that is, until you bring your own creativity to it.
