A lot of Blurbarians have told us, both in blog posts and through customer support, that our shipping prices could be lower. In response to this feedback coupled with the introduction of our new book types, we’re happy to introduce shipping rates that benefit both U.S. and international customers.
For our U.S. and Canadian customers, we no longer offer fixed shipping rates (e.g., $8.95+$2.95 for Ground, $12.95+$3.95 for 2nd Day Air and Canadian Standard). Instead, we now conduct a real-time cost calculation with UPS after you specify your delivery address during checkout. This seamless experience returns a custom quote based on the weight of your order and destination you specified. Implemented last Friday, early results from over the weekend show a significant cost savings for shipments within the U.S.
In addition, we’ve recently finalized a rate renegotiation with UPS. UPS responded with a more aggressive rate for many international zones without sacrificing the ability to track your order or deliver in a expedited manner. These new rates are now in effect.
Even though we’ve taken important steps to offer you the best shipping rates possible, we’ll continue to explore new ways to make these rates even better. We’ll have more leverage to negotiate better rates as we continue to grow and expand. In the coming months we’ll focus on setting up an overseas print facility, and continue to evaluate additional shipping alternatives. More to come on both fronts as we have additional information.

Thank you. That is great. The one thing that bugged me about Blurb was the high shipping costs. Now they are much more realistic.
This is great news – now you’ll just have to expand the current list of countries you ship to. Don’t forget Portugal! :)
Great to hear.
Thanks, every penny counts!
I love Blurb and found that this is the only self publishing site that offers great prices and also the most flexibility in content delivery.
I applaud the recent changes and I am looking forward to a time when Blurb will be able to add USPS as a shipping option. This will open up delivery to Army Post Offices (APO).
Don’t forget Iceland either when you expand your list of countries you ship to. Seems like you’ve already included all the other Scandinavian countries except us.
Duly noted! Thanks.
Thanks for listening.
Oh and please add Taiwan to your list please. It’d be great to finally get your books delivered here.
Thanks.
Please include United Arab Emirates into your shipping list so that we can also make use of the benefit
Please add Hong Kong to the shipping list. It’s very inconvenient at the moment as I have to route everything to a friend’s address in US. I love your products and would love to order more frequently.
I want to second Jerome’s suggestion that you add Taiwan to your list of countries to which you ship. As soon as Taiwan is added I’ll probably be ordering some books to send to my family there.
Russia is waiting for u very much!
Mexico is too near… ¿when will be included? will be a useful help for authors
BRAZIL
We definetely need blurb to ship books to Brazil. Latin America is always forgotten….
I am so happy to have found Blurb, but please consider shipping books to BRAZIL!
Great idea, great product, but poor delivery! We need you guys to start delivering stuff to BRAZIL! Tks a lot.
Published my first book recently and can’t wait until it arrives. Hope you can solve the issues with shipping to APO and FPO military addresses overseas as I think you have a large untapped customer base and think these books can be a great going away gifts when people leave which is often. I checked the rate to ship here to Japan and it was over $30!!
May I suggest a temporary fix? There is a company out there that provides a physical address for service members overseas and then forwards their packages through the USPS. The HP shopping site has teamed with this company called ShipitAPO.com and has a dirrect link to their site when checking out as HP will not ship by USPS. It works great and have used them many times. Thank you.
Corey – Thanks for the ShipitAPO.com info. We’re looking into it now.
Great suggestion!
Checking back to see if there have been any changes to the availability of using the United States Postal Service as a method to ship. This will open up delivery to Army Post Offices (APO/FPO).
I will be placing orders as soon as this option arrives.
Thanks!
Are you considering shipping books to Brazil any time soon?
Thanks for your attention!
Please, include Brazil on destinations list!
This is a big community on Flickr!
Thanx!
Please add India. We’re a country with a LOT of people, you know. And we love books.

Hi Alexander – You have indeed stumbled upon a problem we\’re having with UPS. In fact, we just posted this note to our Forums: http://forums.blurb.com/forums/1/topics/448 alerting others to this problem. UPS is working on it and we hope to have this situation resolved very soon.
Thanks for your patience.
