Hana Pesut is a Vancouver-based photographer who takes a unique approach to portraiture: taking two nearly identical photos of her subjects, and having them swap outfits. What could be a kind of comical novelty project is a thought-provoking look at how clothing codes us for gender. While the women featured here in men’s clothing wouldn’t get a second-look walking down the street, the same can’t necessarily be said for the men. Here’s a sampling of her Switcheroo series. See more on her site.
And Hana, if you’re reading this, these totally belong in a book.
