I’m responsible for Blurb events and am happy to say I just returned from the Altitude Design Summit in Salt Lake City, Utah held at the Grand America Hotel. Amazing venue, btw, a great place for a gathering of creatives. Day one kicked off with an opening session on how to find the best design sites and concluded with a networking session/social where like-minded design and blogger folks were able to mingle, share stories, and talk shop.
Day two covered everything from brand building to book design. Our friend Mat Thorne gave a session on book design basics while I gave folks the overview on Blurb. Great to see lots of interest in our PDF to Book workflow and our Set Your Price book sales system. The Summit also hosted sessions on everything from design theory to social media and photography for the web.
Altitude Design brought together a fabulous group of design bloggers including Jean Aw of NotCot, Grace Bonney of Design*Sponge, Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan of Apartment Therapy, and from our own backyard, Victoria Smith of Sfgirlbybay.com. And Blurb was super excited to be a part of this fabulous event.
Props to Gabrielle Blair (www.designmom.com) and her team for creating a super friendly and informative blogger design conference. Well done, superwomen!
We might be coming to a city near you soon. Check our events listings for updates.
