What do you give a book-loving copywriter with a thing for Scotland? (Some might call it a fetish.) You get her a roundtrip ticket to the Edinburgh International Book Festival. Just remember to hop to it. The festival, the largest one of its kind, goes through August 27, 2007.

Alas, lets say you cannot make it to Scotland and you got that preemptive tattoo of the words “Luceo non Uro” from the crest of the Mackenzie clan for nothing. Maybe there’s another book festival on your horizon. Like the Frankfurt Book Fair in Germany. This one takes place in October. Picture 280,000 visitors reading, listening, selling books, buying books, hitting the beer gardens, having some schnitzel, and experiencing five days of book love.

Want more places to get your literary festival fix? Publisher’s Weekly has a long list of book fests taking place this fall. Know any others we should attend? We’re compiling a list, so let us know below.
