The future of books in a digital era is always up for debate and we love hearing everyone’s opinions. Kyle Bean is one of many believers that the book as it’s known today will always remain. According to Kyle, “Books…have personality – they have textures and smells which the Internet can’t offer.” We couldn’t agree more. After all, who doesn’t love that new book (and old book!) smell?
In order to illustrate his point and call out societies tendency to turn to our computers for our information versus books, Bean created the book laptop. “The Future of Books” book looks like any regular hardcover you’d see on a shelf, but upon further inspection you’ll see it’s hidden technological surprise. It features a CD-Rom drive with CD, a keyboard and a glowing screen. We so need one of these for our reception area – awesome.
