Oh, Mitch. Your gnome book made me laugh so hard that I spit out the coffee I was drinking. And that’s not pretty. It was worth it though. Your photography, clever point of view, and hilarious commentary – along with Kyle Nylund’s gnome garments – are irresistibly entertaining.

The Urban Gnome, Photos by Mitch Tukkimaki, Garments by Kyle Nylund.

In his author profile, Mitch writes that he is in his third year of art school. He also writes: Mostly what I want you to know is books are like treasure. They are solid tangible objects that can be passed down from generation to generation or used in hand to hand combat, that is if [they're] not soft cover (which is why I personally always get a good hardcover book).

This Book of the Week is just straight-up funny. Preview it if you crave a little levity. Even if you hate gnomes, you’re going to appreciate the excellent photographic set up and humor. (But nobody hates gnomes.)

  1. I just love it! I can see why you spit your coffee. Luckily your words had prevented me from a similar fate.

Not subtle at all, disgustingly in your face, hilariously funny, particularly clever, Mitch is heretofore and forever banned from any contact with my self-taught, normal, stoic portfolio of older aged photography. cheers and beers.
