Were you anxiously awaiting some new, fancy photo features on the iPhone 5?
Yeah, we were too.
But instead of letting disappointment sully our enthusiasm for phoneography, we’ve taken the improvement process into our own hands.
We got an opportunity to try out the Photojojo phone lens series, which includes fisheye, telephoto, macro, and wide angle lenses. They come with a little magnetic ring that you adhere to the surface of your phone and then the lens snaps right onto the magnet.
These lenses are a fun, easy, and inexpensive way to take your phone photos up a notch or two.
The telephoto lens gives you a 2x zoom, without degrading the quality of the photo or requiring you to expand anything on screen.
The wide angle lens screws on top of the macro lens and, as expected, lets you fit more into your shot.
The fisheye lens, probably my favorite one to use, takes a wide angle photo and compresses it into a globe. It’s especially fun for photos of faces.
The macro lens lets you get super close, capturing the pebble-y texture of kitty noses if you ever have need for such a thing (and who doesn’t?)
They’ve also got a little macro lens on a rubber band that you just wrap around your phone. If you get really close to your subject, it lets you take amazingly detailed macro shots!
While our bulky SLRs languish at home, we’re asking for more and more from our phone cameras. We’ll be looking for what the next iteration of iPhone brings us. In the meantime, we’re grateful to have friends like those at Photojojo, coming up with new, fun tools and toys to make any and all of our photos better.
