If you were the type who colored outside the lines – you know who you are – chances are you want to break free of BookSmart’s professionally designed templates. It’s ok. We won’t take it personally. We understand creative types. You just want to do your own thing.
Go ahead and freestyle. There is a way to set your own book layout and blogger Mike DelGaudio gives it to you straight. His post explains just how easy it is to design your own book pages and import them into your BookSmart image library.
Mike, thanks for revealing more creative options for Blurb authors. We couldn’t have said it any better.

Hi,
I am making a book right now using my own design. I’ve never used blurb before so I don’t know exactly what to expect. When I load the pictures there is a very thin white line around the edge that makes me think they are not working as a full bleed….is this true? I had the size slightly wrong at first (too large in one direction and a bit too small in the other) but then I corrected that and I don’t see any difference in the display. could anyone let me know how I know what I will actually get?
hi. My book is complete, and now I want to change my type of paper. I don’t see this option under the ‘edit’ book. I used Booksmart. Is there a way I can do this?
Hey Terry,
You’ll actually do this when you purchase your book. Go ahead and order, it’ll be the first screen you see.
best
Kent
Thanks Kent. I’ve also ordered the swatch/samples, which are in the mail. I’ll wait for that first – I appreciate your reply.
