Drum roll, please. Pantone has announced its 2011 Color of the Year, and it’s… Honeysuckle 18-2120.
Unlike last year’s Turquoise (“a langorous, effective escape from the everyday troubles of the world”), Pantone tells us that Honeysuckle is no slacker: “Courageous. Confident. Vital. A brave new color, for a brave new world.”
We’re not quite sure how to take that. But we’ve made it pretty easy to match up any colors you love in your BookSmart® book’s text or backgrounds. With its RGB equivalent (R:203; G:101; B:134), you can splash Honeysuckle throughout your book.
And here’s a cool Bookify™ color trick to try: the eyedropper feature lets you pick up a hue from any of your images, and use it as a background to give your pages or cover a unified look.
So here’s to a new year filled with Honeysuckle’s verve, vigor, confidence and spirit – and lots of great books, made by you.
