We’re back from Las Vegas where Bruce, Mugs, Dave and I showed Blurb books to wedding and portrait photographers at WPPI. We heard a lot of great ideas on using Blurb books as wedding albums, guest books, engagement photo books, proof books, and leave-behinds for vendors. The professional photographers were excited by the ability to customize the logo in their Blurb books for a small fee.
A sales rep from a major photo printer company gave us his sales pitch as we headed back to our rooms. The elevator was packed with conference attendees, all pretty worn out from the exhibit hall. When the rep was finished with his pitch, there was silence in the crowded space. Then we pointed out that he’d just given us his elevator pitch… in an elevator.
Despite our tired feet and hoarse voices, we love going to these conferences to meet faithful (and future) Blurbarians, and to share in your enthusiasm for Blurb books. There is a special thrill that comes from feeling these books in your hands, examining the sharpness of the photos, seeing the quality of the paper and binding. It’s a different thrill than the one you get from running into David Hasslehoff by the elevator bank (right, Mugs?).
